Beijing imposed a heavy state hand. So, It blocked major foreign websites, sheltered Chinese tech firms. Why? they developed alternatives to Western rivals and kept a tight grip on what people said online. Moreover, The United States stood for a global openness that helped a generation of internet dominate worldwide. >> Trump, Microsoft vs TikTok..
Donald Trump issued executive orders that could lead to a U.S. ban next month. This includes two of the world’s most popular Chinese-made apps, TikTok and WeChat. Then, The White House signaled a new willingness to adopt Beijing’s exclusionary tactics. However, Mr. Trump went further on Friday, ordering ByteDance, the Chinese owner of TikTok, to give up its American assets and any data that TikTok had gathered in the United States.
“As we’ve said previously, more than 100 million Americans love TikTok because it is a home for entertainment, self-expression, and connection,”. TikTok said in an email statement to The Verge on Friday. “We’re committed to continuing to bring joy to families and meaningful careers to those who create on our platform for many years to come.”

Will Microsoft buy Tiktok?!
Microsoft has been in talks to acquire TikTok, though co-founder Bill Gates called the potential deal a “poisoned chalice”. The company addresses the Trump administration’s security concerns head-on, emphasizing that:
“Microsoft would ensure that all private data of TikTok’s American users is transferred to and remains in the United States.. To the extent that any such data currently stored or backed-up outside the United States.. Microsoft would ensure to delete this data from servers outside the country after transferring”.
For its part, TikTok and its Chinese owner ByteDance have maintained that:
Its security measures are more than adequate to protect American users.. Even as various branches of the US military have banned their service members from using it.
Security concerns alone just don’t seem to cover the explanation!. There have been Chinese-owned apps with much more obvious blackmail or intelligence potential that have not come to the president’s notice. In the end, this called the domination technical war.
