This malware, like others, is made to work in the background. It will open web pages, click on advertisements, and create revenue for someone who is getting benefited by all this. And these actions happen on your phone without your knowledge.
All of these 17 applications in Apple’s Store infected are published on the Apple App Store by the same developer, the India-based AppAspect Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
“Clicker Trojan is a well-known class of malware that does ad-fraud by making frequent connections to ad networks or websites to inflate visitor counts artificially or to generate revenue on a pay-per-click basis,” says Wandera.
the security firm interpreted that it is not clear whether the lousy code was added intentionally or unintentionally by the developer.
The apps clarified by Wandera connect with the same (command and control) server using that encryption cipher that the researchers have not been able to crack yet,”
Wandera’s report notes, adding this threatening point: Android apps in contact with the same server were taking private details from the user’s device.
